WIRT was First in the Nation in number of wins with five for 2002. The PURPLECOMET mare added win five on April 19th with another allowance win at Penn National for owner Eagle Point Farm and trainer Flint W. Stites. As usual Wirt likes to run off the pace and takes the lead nearing the finish line and wins by just enough. Wirt's record is five wins, two thirds and a fourth in 8 starts this year. We are very proud of her.
Irgunomics broke his maiden when he came from behind to win a 1 1/16 mile Maiden Special Weight at Pimlico on April 6th. Dave Slawek of North Carolina owns and bred this big colt by Irgun. Timothy Keefe trains the winner.
